March 27-28, 2014, Lagos, Nigeria
CEED Morocco and the African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP) Cote d’Ivoire Chapter joined forces in early March for a “Women Entrepreneurs Forum” in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. Over 200 entrepreneurs attended the two-day event that focused on international growth opportunities and finance available to small businesses. Funded by the U.S. Department of State and managed by SEAF, AWEP has grown to a network of 154 women entrepreneurs in 48 countries and 22 chapters across Sub-Saharan Africa. The AWEP community can importantly benefit from a strong relationship with CEED and its growing presence in North Africa, and vice versa.
Fatima Zahra Oukacha, Director of CEED Morocco and Averi Thomas-Moore, Project Manager for the African Diaspora Marketplace at SEAF, were among the key speakers outlining regional expansion and growth finance opportunities.
