4 April 2014, Prishtina, Kosovo
The 1st Annual CEED MAK B2B successfully brought together over 100 businesses from Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania to drive international business among entrepreneurs in these countries. Encouraging entrepreneurs to internationally expand is an important role for CEED to play. As reported in the ‘Internationalization of SMEs in Europe’ published by the EU in 2010, companies operating internationally are more innovative, grow faster and employ more people, making international business development vital for strong, sustainable growth. Each year, CEED organizes regional and international B2B meetings, business envoy trips, Market Access Conferences, Venture Connect meetings and many other networking activities in order to foster this ‘internationalization’ spirit. Consequentially, these activities have a direct and profound impact on the participants ability to increase sales, attract investment, expand their business into other markets and create successful partnerships.
The conference began with members of government and non-government bodies addressing the favorable investing in Kosovo. Represented organizations included CEED Kosovo, the Trade & Industry Department of the Republic of Kosovo, the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in Kosovo, and the Investment Promotion Agency of Kosovo.
The second part of the event was dedicated to matchmaking and B2B meetings amongst companies. Entrepreneurs had the opportunity to network and to consider new opportunities with people they otherwise would not have had the chance to meet.
The conference was judged highly effective by the attending entrepreneurs and from the regional media.
