United Nations Global Compact Office is the largest corporate citizenship initiative in the world. As of May 2007 more than 3,000 companies from 100 countries, as well as over 700 hundred civil society, international labor organizations and academic institutions are engaged in the initiative. All are working to promote responsible corporate citizenship, ensuring that business is part of the solution to the challenges of globalization. In this way, the private sector, in partnership with other social actors, can help realize a more sustainable and inclusive global economy. On the November 10th and 11th the UN Global Impact organized its 4th MENA Region PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Forum was organized at ESCA business school in Casablanca, Morocco.

During the MENA Region PRME Forum, three honorary awards were given to corporations and initiatives that best embody the philosophy of the UN-Global Compact principles. Through these honorary awards, the forum recognizes their contribution as role models as well as their inspirational leadership. Three categories were considered to cover all Moroccan economic operators and were divided into large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, and last but not least, best initiative.

CEED Morocco was awarded the honor of ‘best initiative’ and according to the forum organizers, “CEED Morocco is being honored as an NGO whose mission is to provide entrepreneurs with the skills and networks they need to accelerate the growth of their businesses and promote an entrepreneurial culture in society in general. CEED Morocco leadership team has taken an original initiative to build the capacity of young Moroccan entrepreneurs and develop the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through this award, we are also celebrating youth and women in leadership”.
