On February 25, 2017, CEED Bulgaria launched a new project which aims support Uzbek and Turkmen Business Intermediary Organizations (BIOs) and SMEs with the development of logistic supply chain, the storage and distribution of goods, and training. In addition, the project will contribute to establishing institutional and legal mechanisms for public-private partnership through the institutional support of business associations working in the field of transport and warehouse logistics. The goal is to help increase their competitiveness in both domestic and foreign markets, stimulating SME growth and export expansion in the Central Asian states. CEED within it various centers has worked with various cross-border logistics firms over the years, as well as governments and associaitons in the space. This experience in the network will be help add value to the project.
The project is co-financed by the EU. The project activities will be implemented in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in 2017-2019. The project will be implemented by CEED Bulgaria in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIU), the Association for Development of Business Logistics (ADBL Tashkent), the Latvian Association of stevedore companies (LSA) and the Turkmen Association of International Road Carriers (THADA).
