Forty-nine entrepreneurs from diverse sectors attended the launch and taster that was hosted by CEED Tanzania and ACA.  Presentations by CEED Tanzania explored the different stages of growth in the business life cycle and the related opportunities, challenges and threats that entrepreneurs and businesses experience in growing their enterprises.  Africa Coffee Academy’s Group CEO, Mr. Robert Nsibirwa, led a discussion on partnerships and the value of building local business networks to build thriving enterprises. The keynote speaker was Mr. Peter Kyambadde, Director, Tax & Regulatory Services at KPMG Uganda.  Mr. Kyambadde presented on a recently launched tax compliance policy known as the Electronic Fiscal Receipting & Invoicing Solution (EFRIS) system. His remarks were appreciated and well received by attendees.

The launch had a strong impact with Twenty-seven entrepreneurs signing up to join the CEED network through an annual membership. The CEED chapter in Kampala will provide peer group events and networking opportunities on a monthly basis to its members.

Based on the success of the Kampala Chapter and CEED’s vision to have a greater footprint in sub-Saharan Africa, CEED Global expects to continue developing partnerships and resources to continue to build and strengthen our presence in the East Africa region and beyond.
